With the development of science and technology, the requirements for the system of the electricity market are getting higher. Currently, there are three operational models (hierarchical clearing model, tightly coupled clearing model, and loosely coupled operational model) in the study of electricity markets. These three models need to be implemented in phases according to the actual situation of the electricity market. If there is a mismatch between the electricity market situation and the mode of operation of the electricity market, it will lead to significant losses. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the situation in the electricity market. From there, the point of time for the phase transition is determined, and it can provide an important reference for the electricity market model transition. For the actual conditions of the electricity market, this paper analyzes the inter-provincial and intra-provincial trading patterns of the electricity market from a spatial perspective, and the long-term, medium-term, and short-term load trading patterns of the electricity market from a temporal perspective. According to the practical position of Sichuan Province, a methodology for determining the time point of phase transition based on the measurement of alternatives and ranking according to the compromise solution (MARCOS) method is proposed. It cenables the model of the power market in Sichuan Province to be converted in a timely manner, which greatly reduces the loss of the power market.
