Currently, intelligent devices and monitoring data from substations have been integrated into the smart grid, forming an interconnected, digital operation and maintenance platform. The smart grid substation operation protection comparison platform, hosted on cloud servers, faces threats to the information security of the smart grid, thereby affecting the data privacy and operation safety of the substations. Therefore, this paper analyzes the current security requirements of the smart grid and common solutions, combined with the operation safety requirements of the smart grid substation. By using basic cryptographic techniques, it addresses network and information security threats in the smart grid, ensuring the operation safety of the substation. This paper restricts the login permissions of the smart grid substation operation protection platform; uses the RSA asymmetric encryption algorithm to encrypt the plaintext of the historical operation information stored on the server side; uses the AES advanced encryption algorithm and RSA algorithm to encrypt the communication process between the client and server side; encrypts the blueprint itself; and verifies the integrity of the blueprint connection relationship comparison file. This achieves the operation safety of the smart grid substation.
