A boost dc-dc converter for photovoltaic (PV) energy harvesting is proposed and fabricated by TSMC 0.18μm 1P6M mixed-signal standard CMOS process. A perturb and observe (P&O) method is used to track the maximum power point of the PV cell. A new control method combining time-multiplexing control (TMC) and power-distributive control (PDC) is used to control single-inductor dual-input dual output (SIDIDO) system, properly distributing energy among harvester, energy buffer and output. With the assistance of the energy buffer stage, the maximum load power of the proposed converter can reach 6.9mW.
