In this paper, we report a film with Au nano-spiral structures to behave a circular dichroic filter in visible light region. Rotating Si while cooling to -100K and irradiation of the thermal vapor of Au with 85° angle of incidence created nano-spiral structures with a diameter of about 100 nm on the Si. The fabricated spiral structure was transferred on a Scotch tape to form a film. The transmitted light was measured and it was found that it had strong circular dichroism in the visible light region. This characteristic can be applied as a circular polarizing filter or an anti-reflection filter.
