A reliable and trustworthy network is crucial for the security requirement of data transmission, as IoT implementation requires managing a large number and diversity of smart devices. Because SDN provides a way of managing the network with flexibility and adaptability, hence, this research aims to design and develop a mechanism that uses operational behaviors and characteristics of IoT devices to examine their traffic flows to enhance the security of the IoT network. The experiment results show that the trust level algorithm in this research can assist SDN controller in detecting abnormal behaviors and triggering mitigation rules to reduce security impact on normal flows.
