A buck dc-dc converter modelled with Cadence OrCAD is presented in this paper. The investigated circuit is suitable for automotive applications. The input voltage $\boldsymbol{V}_{\boldsymbol{IN}}$ of the buck dc-dc converter is equal to 24 V, while the output voltage is regulated to be equal to 12 V. The PSpice models of MOSFET transistor “BSC020N03MS” of the company Infineon are used in this investigation. The short-circuit losses in the power stage are eliminated using small gap time, when both output transistors are switched-off. The maximum efficiency of the modelled buck dc-dc converter is 95 %, when output current $\boldsymbol{I}_{\boldsymbol{OUT}}$ is equal to 7 A.
