Before the large-scale application of perfluorocarbonone (C 5 F 10 O) gas, the compatibility between C 5 F 10 O gas and solid materials in electrical equipment should be studied. Epoxy resin is a kind of solid insulating material commonly used in gas insulated equipment. In this paper, the model of cross-linked epoxy resin was established, and the compatibility of C 5 F 10 O gas and its decomposition products with epoxy resin was studied based on reactive force field method. The simulation results show that C 5 F 10 O does not react with epoxy resin, so it is considered that it has good compatibility with epoxy resin. Among the decomposition products of C 5 F 10 O, CO and CF 4 were relatively stable and showed good compatibility with epoxy resin. However, other free radicals such as F., CF:, CF 2 :, CF 3 . would react with epoxy resin intensively, which had an obvious influence on molecular structure of epoxy resin.
