The widespread use of the nonlinear loads in the power system complicates the harmonic problem. Thus, it is very important to establish an accurate model to describe characteristics of harmonic source. However, it is difficult to effectively characterize the harmonic behavior of the aggregate load formed by various linear and nonlinear loads. This paper proposes a piecewise probabilistic aggregate harmonic load model based on measured data. By analyzing the probability distribution of the proportion of each composite harmonic load in the aggregate load within different power segments, the harmonic emission level of the aggregate load is estimated. The accuracy of the proposed method is verified by the field measurement data.
