Substation site selection is a key link in power grid planning and construction. In this paper, for the selection of substation sites to be constructed, an index system containing seven factors, including substation investment, supporting line investment, construction site acquisition and clearing cost, operation and maintenance cost, project implementation difficulty, environmental impact and social impact, is constructed. The basic data of the three station sites in the actual project were processed and evaluated by introducing the VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje method (VIKOR). The evaluation results show that Station Site 1 performs optimally in terms of the length and investment of the supporting lines, the construction site acquisition and clearing costs, and the impact on the environment, and is the best choice among the three station sites. The method adopted in this paper is simple and reliable, and provides a useful reference for future substation site selection.
