Considering fuzzy phenomena are universal and the classical rough set can not well describe the uncertainty contained in the fuzzy information, we study the rough approximate matrix representation method of fuzzy sets in the intuitionistic fuzzy ordered information system. First, the operation between the dominance relation matrix and the fuzzy set matrix is proposed. Then rough approximate matrix representations of fuzzy sets and basic properties of matrix expressions are further studied. Furthermore, the matrix representation algorithm is designed to speed up the solution. Finally, the feasibility and superiority of the matrix method that reduces computation time while ensuring accurate operation are verified by numerical experiments. The matrix representation method is an effective tool for knowledge discovery in the era of big data.
