In this paper, an existing approach based on wave digital filter theory is extended to be used in a border class of circuits. The idea behind this paper is to develop digital models that one can implement to model a multi-port structure and to simulate it using Simulink platform that is already used extensively by researchers. A wave-based model, capable of efficiently analyzing complex substrate-integrated-waveguide (SIW) filter structure is reported in this work. A 4 th order SIW filter is also designed, fabricated and measured.
