Ultra high-speed imaging techniques were used to measure and analyze ice surface and air gap corona streamer inception parameters. Furthermore, a computer model is proposed to predict corona streamer inception parameters. The input data are the gap geometry, surrounding air temperature, applied voltage and electric field distribution. It is found that the results from the model are in good agreement with those obtained experimentally.
