In this work, the folded cascode and the inverter based charge-sensitive amplifier topologies are evaluated across four diverse technology nodes, from 22 nm to 180 nm. Noise performance assessment of both charge-sensitive amplifier schemes is conducted, over their operational bandwidth and the associated noise sources contribution. Advanced noise analysis provides valuable insights into the technology scaling impact on the overall noise performance of the amplifiers as well as on the individual noise contributing mechanisms.
