This paper proposes a novel extended T-type nine level inverter based on switched capacitor technique. It has the capacity to raise the input voltage twice and has self-balancing of voltage across the capacitors. A level shifted pulse width modulation (LSPWM) approach is used to evaluate the performance of this architecture. Furthermore, the suggested topology is compared against state-of-the-art topologies to determine its improved performance. This architecture is simulated in the MATLAB/Simulink environment and confirmed using a hardware prototype built in laboratory using the dSPACE 1104 controller.
