This paper basically describes one of the techniques for the modelling of Active Front End Inverter using non-linear state space analysis. The averaging methods using state space analysis have proved to be successful in pulse width modulated converters. Switched state space models can be designed in MATLAB/SIMULINK to simulate the power converter and study there controllers. The power flow in the AFE inverter can be controlled using space vectors concepts. The idea of decoupled space vector control can be used in the line side PWM converter for achieving better dynamic performance.
