The promotion of eco-friendly energy sources and their near-free availability have contributed to an increase in the usage of renewable energy around the globe. Solar energy is the useful natural resource available across the world. Yet, people, who want to purchase Solar PV systems eventually run across two significant obstacles: Solar output is minimal when it is overcast, usually after rain, but electricity is still required. when it becomes necessary throughout a typical day to deliver a load that consumes more power than what a solar PV system can handle. This proposed system addresses these issues by offering a solution to homes that want to continue using electricity even when there is insufficient solar radiation for their solar PV system. The Mains (Grid) is used as a backup, with the Solar PV system acting as the primary source of energy. The system uses the grid when solar production is low until the inverter detects a voltage within acceptable limits, at which point it switches back to solar. When being powered by the Grid, power is cut off if the device's voltage falls below the specified threshold. The automatic sensing and switching are done by Arduino along with sensors and relay. The liquid crystal display shows the status of the system with voltage level of all sources.
