Atomic vapor cells are core devices of precise measurement depending on quantum effect, which have an impact on the accuracy of measurement. Metamaterial can be employed to improve the performance of atomic vapor cell due to its excellent ability to control electromagnetic wave. In this paper, a new atomic vapor cell with low electromagnetic perturbation is proposed, which is composed of perfect-electric-conductor (PEC), artificial-magnetic-conductor (AMC) and metamaterial absorber. Example structures and feasible methods of AMC and absorber are also suggested. Finally, the preparation and verification of two kinds of metamaterials are carried out. The application of metamaterials to atomic vapor cells is a new attempt, which broadens the application direction of metamaterials.
