An ultrathin bi-functional metasurface antenna is proposed on one dielectric substrate for transmitarrays (TAs) and reflectarrays (RAs). The simulated results show that the maximum gains for TA/RA at 28GHz are 30.53dBi and 30.6dBi, corresponding to aperture efficiencies of 38.3% and 38.9%, respectively. The 3-dB gain bandwidths are 26.63~29.32GHz (9.6 % ) for TA and 25~30.1GHz (18.5 % ) for RA. The bi-functional antenna exhibits good radiated performance both for TA and RA.
