This paper describes the Fuzzy based PI feedforward technique for controlling the liquid level of Tank 1 of the coupled tank system. The coupled tank system is a complex nonlinear system that requires precise control to accomplish the required liquid level of the tanks. A Fuzzy based PI feedforward controller is proposed to regulate the container's liquid level by changing the pump flow rates. The PI feedforward method is utilized to enhance the system's response. Fuzzy method is hybridizing to tune the proportional and integral gains. The simulation is done in MATLAB/Simulink environment. Finally, the simulated results are validated via Quanser® coupled tank experimental setup and show that the suggested control scheme is effective in improving the transient response of the coupled tank system in controlling the Tank 1 liquid level.
