The circuit breaker plays an important role in the stable supply of electric power to reliably the transport generated electricity to customers in the power system. However, an instantaneous voltage drop occurs between the disconnection of the accident point affected by the circuit breaker and the restoration. The high-speed interruption is required because the duration of the instantaneous voltage drop is determined by the operation time of the circuit breaker. However, few report has researched the arc interruption under considering of the phase state of the current. In addition, it is also necessary to investigate the effective SF 6 gas blowing. In this paper, the arc temperature distribution and SF 6 gas behavior were elucidated with changing the blowing timing of SF 6 gas. As a result, the mean of SF 6 contamination rate near the anode increased and the arc temperature decreased in the case of the advance of the SF 6 gas blowing timing. However, the expanse of the temperature at less than 5000 K are saturated. Therefore, the early gas blowing timing of SF 6 causes an excessive temperature decrement and optimum blowing timing of it exists.
