This paper provides an overview of Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (DQPSK) Modulation in fiber optic communication along with simulation design and modelling of its transmitter. Construction and simulation of the design & modelling have been performed in the OptSim software version 5 which has both academic & industrial applications. A detailed theoretical analysis as well as case study of the modulation has been provided together with limitation and further scope of research. Furthermore, Optical Spectrum of DQPSK modulation has been simulated using the industrial level software OptSim version 5.
