The demand for new and efficient design of electric motors is gaining momentum due to the rapid growth in electric transportation. In particular, all-electric aircraft applications require very high-power density. This paper introduces new motor topologies for a double-rotor flux switching machine with an air-core stator comprising field and armature windings. The field coils are made of yttrium barium copper oxide high temperature superconducting material and aluminum Litz is used for the armature windings. The machine is operated under cryogenic temperatures. The power density obtained with the proposed design is 30.5 kW/kg and an efficiency is 95.2% during take-off is accomplished; satisfying the requirement of electric aviation.
