In this study, a compact microstrip array antenna design is presented. The design enjoys multiple advantages, it can operate in 5G mobile communication band (3.4 – 3.8 GHz) for advance biomedical applications such as Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV), Autonomous Vehicles (AV), and Swarm Drone Applications (SDA). There are three identical radiating structures in this proposed antenna. These radiating structures are in a circular shape and they are compatible to operate at frequency ranges of 3.6 GHz and ultra-wideband. These structures also illustrate omnidirectional radiation characteristics. The proposed antenna has been placed on a RO4003 substrate with a thickness of 0.203 mm and a dielectric constant (εr) of 3.55. CST Studio Suite environment is used to obtain the simulation results. The results of this study demonstrate that the proposed antenna design is reliable and suitable for 5G mobile applications.
