In this paper, an efficient power system modeling technique by utilizing the concept of multiterminal component is introduced. The proposed technique is based on gathering the same phase busses and elements as a separate group (phase grouping technique) and uses multiterminal components to model a three-phase power system. Using a multiterminal component and phase grouping technique (PGT), power system elements particularly lines and transformer can effectively be modeled.
