This project focuses on developing communication devices for data acquisition and control in distribution transformers' energy meters and reclosers in urban and rural Electrical Grids in Morteros, Córdoba, aiming to stremline operational efficiency and decision-making during emergencies. Specifically, an IoT ecosystem is proposed using ESP32 microcontrollers to periodically read energy meters at substations, interpreting the DLMS COSEM protocol. Additionally, remote control and data acquisition of reclosers are targeted by decoding the DNP3 protocol. After implementation and several months of operation, the project concludes favorably, since monitoring and control of the targeted equipment was achieved, allowing early alerting in case of failures and serving as a future tool to enhance the electrical grid's management through AI algorithms or optimization techniques.
