To monitor the energy consumption of a large building is quite important nowdays. An edge router is designed in this paper in order that the monitoring terminal can access the energy consumption data of large building in real time. The energy consumption devices in large buildings can be connected to the Internet through the edge router. The STM32F4 chip is used as the hardware processor of the edge router. The Free Real Time Operating System (FREERTOS) combining the 6in4 technique is employed as the software platform of the edge router. An address-mapping table is designed to improve the efficiency of data transferring. The experimental results show that energy consumption devices can obtain the energy consumption feedback within 100ms. The max transferring speed of data reaches 10M/S, which satisfy the real-time requirement of data accessing in most situations.
