In MPEG media transport (MMT)-based next-generation broadcasting systems, hybrid channel usage of broadcast and broadband is easier and more practical than in MPEG-2 transport stream-based broadcasting systems because of a common encapsulation format for media data and coordinated universal time-based media synchronous mechanisms. We have developed an MMT receiver and conducted an experiment with hybrid content delivery. The receiver can process synchronized media presentation and perform seamless switching of multiple video streams from different channels.
