The DC circuit breaker is the key point for AC/DC networking. However, the topologies of DC circuit breaker in distribution adopting the scheme of HVDC transmission are no longer applicable when considering the investment and cost in DC distribution. Which means that it is important to balance the cost and performance of medium-voltage DC distribution circuit breakers by developing economical DC breaking technology. Aiming at the key point of economical and efficient interruption of DC side fault in AC/DC hybrid distribution, this paper proposes a transferred DC interruption topology based on DC fusing and transferred interruption technology. This topology is formed of DC fuse connected in parallel with transfer switch. As the low-cost DC current-limiting fuse is used to break the short-circuit current, thus reducing the cost of the DC switchgear, and realizing the balance in breaking and economy. The results of simulation calculation show that the proposed transferred DC interruption topology can interrupt 20kA short circuit current and meet the requirements of DC side faults' isolation in AC/DC hybrid distribution.
