Lightning currents and LEMP radiation field may destroy electronic equipments. External lightning protection system provides protection for outdoor and indoor equipments from the direct lightning flash. The extremely high induced ground voltage and electromagnetic radiation, generated by the lightning current flowing on air-termination and down-conductor system are harmful to nearby electronic equipments. Electrical fields and magnetic fields in different down-conductor layouts are simulated in this paper, and beneficial down-conductors symmetry layout project of lightning protection system is investigated to reduce the harm of lightning current.
