Theoretical analysis and experimental study of the properties of two-layer multi-element plane-chiral structure (PChS) at 8-mm band of electromagnetic waves in a free space have been carried out. It is shown that the plane-chiral structure exhibits optical activity, and in accordance with the calculation results in the rotation of the polarization plane by 90 °. Measured and calculated transmittance maximum cross-polarized component of the same frequency with high accuracy and loss do not exceed 0.1 dB. The possibility of tuning bandwidth by changing the distance between the layers is shown. The spatial distribution of the wave beam passed through the PChS has been investigated. It is found that the studied structure also has focusing properties.
