A novel low-RCS metasurface (MS) antenna is proposed which also has wide reconfigurable frequency band. This antenna is comprised by a circular radiating patch in the center with two metasurface rings closely surrounded. The frequency reconfigurable property of the antenna is realized by integrating a varactor diode between the center patch and one MS cell. This unique discrete structure is favorable for wide-band impedance matching. In another aspect, good RCS reduction performance are obtained based on phase cancellation principle. Numerical results show that the reconfigurable frequency band of this proposed antenna covers 2.65 GHz-3.31 GHz, and the RCS is apparently reduced in 5.1 GHz-6.7 GHz.
