This paper presents a high-gain broadband vertically polarized omnidirectional antenna based on spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs), which is comprised of a tape-like monopole and eight double-side corrugated metallic pillars. The eight corrugated metallic pillars are arranged around the monopole, and work as SSPPs to increase antenna gain and enhance the loading capacity. The simulation results show the proposed antenna has a good omnidirectional radiation pattern covering 1.2-1.6 GHz with high gain.
