This paper is concerned with power and rate control for wireless communication networks. Based on the mathematical state-space model establishment of power and rate control system for wireless communication networks with external disturbance, an optimal power and rate control algorithm is presented, and the optimal power and rate control law is derived based on the optimal control theory by solving the matrix Riccati algebraic equation. Simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
