This study details the results of a MATLAB simulation testing throughput percentage versus Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) in LTE transmission modes one to four. These transmission modes are compared amongst themselves, varying both HARQ and channel Delay Profiles using throughput as a metric of performance. The rapid evolution and criticality of communications technologies in the global marketplace creates a need for a higher degree of understanding at the bachelor's level. To address this issue, a concise and understandable expansion of modern communications technologies building from existing communications systems topics at the introductory level is sought to address this concern. The results show through analysis of the throughput of each mode as the key indicator of performance under varying conditions of HARQ and delay profile.
