This paper presents how the leakage inductance influences the switching behavior of a hard-switched isolated full-bridge forward converter. Equations describing the transformer current and drain-source voltage across the primary switch are derived. The described waveforms are verified through measurements. The comparison shows excellent accuracy between calculated and measured parameters, with a maximum difference of 6.67% for the waveform parameters.
