The effect of yak collagen peptide on reducing blood sugar was studied by diabetes mice model. A diabetic mouse model was prepared by intraperitoneal injection of alloxan (200 mg/kg) into Kunming mice. The modeled mice were randomly divided into normal group, model group, positive control group (metformin 200 mg/kg) and yak collagen peptide group (200 mg/kg), with 6 mice in each group. Relevant medicines were intragastric administration, given to each group once a day for consecutive 2 weeks, and normal group and model group were given constant volume of normal saline. The blood glucose, body weight, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) content of each group were measured after 7 and 14 days of administration.
