According to the comparative study of literature between Jorge Luis Borges and contemporary Chinese writers, it can be seen that there are shortcomings in the research model and paradigm of comparative literature between China and Latin America. The focus of this article is on comparability with the aim of finding a foundation for conducting research and cultural exchange in this area, using a hermeneutical theory frame of Friedrich Daniel Ernst Schleiermacher and Martin Heidegger. In order to promote understanding of this cross-cultural theme, the methodological hermeneutics provides important assistance. According to this theory, the acceptance of Jorge Luis Borges by Chinese avant-garde writers and the description of China in Argentine master’s works indicate the selectivity of the “agent receiver” and the reciprocity between the two parts. Behind this, there are several collective and individual facts and reasons that need extensive and in-depth research, in order to raise comparative literature to a cross-cultural level. In this regard, both the hermeneutics and the comparability have some common elements. The hermeneutics is defined as the art of understanding, which can develop a new way of thinking and help us draw deeper conclusions.
