SYNOPSIS This chapter describes the experience of ophthalmology practices, with an emphasis on retina-specific concerns and procedures, during the COVID-19 pandemic. We describe the protocols implemented to help safely provide care amidst the risk of contagious illness, including increased hygienic cleaning of offices and equipment, personal protective equipment, disposable ophthalmology equipment, office social distancing, appointment triaging and entry screening, and triaging and implementing protective strategies for procedures and surgeries. The lessons gained from this pandemic will allow us to more efficiently transition into these strategies to provide excellent, vision saving care when the next eventual crisis presents itself.
