We investigate two potential factors affecting how adolescents learn and how willing adolescents are to invest their effort: Difficulty of a task and negative or positive feedback in a task. We test these factors by having adolescents first perform several reinforcement-learning tasks in which difficulty and feedback valence are varied, and then have them choose between redoing these tasks.
