Metamaterial are designated by their special field transforming properties. Electromagnetic fields propagating through those structures will be fitted with new features, as deflection or focusing. Those structures are highly desired, which can be tuned for specific applications. In this paper we present an absolute new way to adjust an omega metamaterial in a pioneering way, creating a focal lens for the Ku band. For this purpose, an omega-metamaterial was redesigned, whereby simulation showed an improved focusing of the electromagnetic field. This structure was manufactured using PCB manufacturing technologies, measured and these properties were confirmed.
