The article presents a case-cohort study which investigates the gastrointestinal cancer risk and aromatic DNA adducts within the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition-Spain (EPIC-Spain). The study used 32P-postlabeling technique to measure the aromatic DNA adducts to DNA from collected leucocytes. Study reveals the independent association of aromatic DNA adducts level and the increase risk of colorectal (CRC) and gastric cancer (GC).
