The article presents a case report on an outbreak of botulism in commercial laying hens with a history of increased mortality and flaccid paralysis. Topics discussed include neutralization of botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) in peripheral blood with type C and type D antitoxins in mouse bioassay, and isolated Clostridium botulinum mosaic type C/D produced same banding pattern, identical or more than 90 percent similar to isolates from outbreaks on broiler farms in Sweden and Denmark from 2007-2010.
