The article profiles Dr. S. Y. Yip, a respected dermatologist who has amassed a large collection of Ming and Qing dynasty furniture and developed large catalogs of the furniture. A discussion of an exhibition of Yip's furniture which is located in the art museum of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, China, is presented. A detailed analysis of the furniture pieces which are included in the exhibit and in Yip's catalogs is offered. An overview of the designs and features of Ming and Qing furniture is presented.
