The article offers a study which is the first to genotype a set of tagging-single nucleotide polymorphisms (tSNP) in a meta-genetic association research of colorectal cancer. It mentions that the study supports a role for X-ray repair complementing defective repair in Chinese hamster cells 2 (XRCC2) in colorectal cancer tumorigenesis, presenting susceptibility to rectal tumors.
