The article discusses Retisert as a treatment method for non-infectious posterior uveitis. Retisert is a intravitreal implant that releases fluocinolone acetonide within 2.5 years. Retisert is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) based on the successful 34-week clinical trial of the implant. The implant offers long-term remission of ocular inflammation. A case study of 60-year old man treated with Retisert is also presented.
