The article discusses medical care quality assessment procedures that use surveys to assess the attitudes of health care consumers and use that feedback to alter services. It is noted that health care consumers have both medical needs and psychosocial needs, which refers to how the patient is treated by medical personnel while receiving medical care. The results of the study were gleaned from a customer satisfaction survey that was given to hospital patients. It was found that patients who were more satisfied with the treatment they received were more likely to return to the same facility again. INSET: Table 1 Definitions of terms(a)..
