The article presents a study that examined the effects of flaxseed on markers of cardiovascular risk in hypercholesterolemic post-menopausal adults. Results include decrease in low-density lipid cholesterol (LDL-C) and reduction in homeostatic model of assessment of insulin resistance. No effect on markers of inflammation or oxidative stress is reportedly found.
