Summary: To support mothers with CSA histories, practice interventions might include teaching clients skills to handle their past abuse, strategies for managing interpersonal conflict, and supporting clients in building positive connections to extended family, friends, community and spiritual resources. Public policies could address the obstacles that have impeded women's abilities to support their families by offering publicly-funded health insurance, childcare assistance, education and training and mental health and substance abuse services. These resources will be helpful to ensure that this population has the supports to enable them to maintain quality care for their children.
