The main objective of the present study is to develop a finite element simulation with improved capability to predict strength evolution using AA6061 and copper in friction stir welding. Experiments have been conducted on the AA6061 and copper in a vertical axis CNC milling machine by programming at different cutting tools (round, Hexagonal and taper threaded). The mechanical properties of frictional stir welded Pure Al6061 and copper specimens are investigated in this study. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
