The article discusses the results of a study of cases of nosocomial drug-resistant bacteremia episodes in patients with cryptococcal meningitis in Kampala, Uganda from November 2010 to April 2013. Topics discussed include the median time from admission to suspected bacteremia, the most frequent microbiologic etiologies including Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus and ceftriaxone as the most common empirical drug used.
